![]() Even when the mechanics, looting, etc are all quite similar. I understand that this is just an opinion, totally subjective, but it really doesnt even compare for me. It just feels like a totally different experience to me. I cant really compare anything in that game to 7D as a result honestly. 7D is a first person game, quite immersive. One thing I would like to say though and I think pretty much anyone who loves these types of games can agree with, I am VERY happy both exist because you can get all the different itches scratched between them.īut the whole top down/iso view makes the game less similar to 7D than everyone makes it out to be. In my opinion zomboid edges out 7 days just because of features as far as overall zombie/crafting type game as 7 days has started lagging behind them in development as both games have been in process a long time which is fine as they're both small indie teams. An area that 7 days is winning is having animals though but with build 42 of zomboid around the corner that will be better in that as well as there will be animal keeping etc as well as hunting. Night of the Dead is another open-world survival crafting zombie game with more emphasis on base building. The thing with comparing zombies between the games too is there is mutated zombies in 7 days vs just normal zombies in zomboid. Look past the controversial IGN and Gamespot score and. One of the younger entries in this list, Days Gone is a compelling zombie horror survival game that makes good use of the open-world format. But for building and chilling with friends 7 days is where it is at it and is why i have hundreds/thousand+ hours in both games. Acting as a mobile base, your craft starts puny at first, but over time it can be upgraded and increased in scale, complexity, and survivability. I 100% agree that comparing them is hard due to the FPS vs ISO/realistic thing but in overall immersion zomboid hands down is better and has more features. The zombies are a lot better in zomboid than 7 days because you can customize them to your liking and preferred zombie lore and they have updated the animations and AI a whole lot more recently. So yeah it'll be unbeatable for some time to come IMO. And it zombies better than zomboid zombies. And 7D minecrafts better than Minecraft minecrafts. 2D games are very popular on the Nintendo Switch, but most of them tend to be in the RPG or mystery genres, so it’s refreshing to see one in a new niche. I think the fixes that are upcoming to make survival relevant combined with the later addition of bandits & a loose story will lock this in as the best in class for a while.Ī lot of people like to compare it to zomboid but I think the perspective and style of the game are important when comparing To me this game is closer to minecraft than zomboid. Rain World is a melancholic 2D platform survival game, themed around a family of slugcats. ![]() ![]() I'd agree that this game is the best in class.
